Yellow Dog Estate Sales Will:
  • Provide a written contract spelling out how your sale will be conducted.
  • Charge a fair commission based on the estimated value of the items and work to be performed.  Our commission is all-inclusive of normal costs (except moving expenses & excessive disposal) and you will not be nickel & dimed for usual expenses. 
  • Research values and set prices using a variety of online resources, many of which are paid subscription websites.
  • Merchandise your items tastefully using our plentiful display tables, shelves, racks, etc.
  • Price and display all merchandise, not just the higher value items.
  • Use modern POS (point of sale) system to accurately record transactions and accept credit cards.
  • Advertise your sale using photos, video and other key information via: 
    • Estate sale listing websites (Estatesales.net,  Estatesales.org, Craigslist, and others
    • Social media websites (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
    • Online sales (eBay, Facebook, Etsy, local listing websites, and from own website at htps://www.usefulassets.com
  • Send email notification through Mailchimp.com to our ever-growing list of followers.
  • Direct traffic to your sale using clear, easy to read street signs and banners.
  • Use modern day “sign-in” sheets that allow our customers to reserve a spot to be one of the first customers into the sale.  
  • Provide peace of mind, because we possess the proper business license, seller’s permit, and an adequate insurance policy.
  • Provide sufficient staffing to ensure excellent crowd control, theft control, inside signage, safety and customer service.
  • Collect sales tax from estate sale customers – it’s California State Law and rolling it into the price would reduce your proceeds.  
  • Be mindful of overlooked personal papers, mementos or family photos while preparing for sale and keep them in a safe place for you.
  • Not bring in items from other homes and use your home to display and sell them, unless you ask us to do so.
  • Provide you with Summary Statement and payment within 7-10 days of sale conclusion and can provide more detailed information upon request.
  • Provide a complete clean-out of items after the sale with the exception of mattresses or items too heavy or awkward to move (you will know upfront what those items are) or if you prefer, we will leave items in the home for you to donate
